Shepherd’s Pie
Perfect for those cooler nights, Shepherds Pie is a one dish dinner that the whole family is sure to love. Easy and delicious, you really can’t go wrong with this classic.
Ingredients
PIE
1 tsp olive oil
1 brown onion finely chopped
3/4 cup water
1 garlic clove crushed
1 carrot chopped
750 g Peter Bouchier Beef Mince
1 tbsp Bionature tomato paste
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 beef stock
1 tsp Spiral Soy Sauce
1 tbsp flour
TOPPING
3 potatoes peeled and cut
1/4 cup milk
1 tbsp butter
3/4 cup cheddar cheese
Method
- To prepare the mash potato boil the potatoes for 20 minutes or until very tender and drain. Add the hot milk, the butter and mash until light and fluffy.
- In a pot heat the oil then add the mince, onion, garlic and carrot and stir until the mince is browned. Stir in the water, sauces and stock and bring to the boil. Simmer uncovered for a few minutes and then stir in the flour.
- Spoon the mixture into a casserole dish. Spread over the prepared mash potato and top with cheese.
- Grill until golden and serve with green salad.
