Roasted Walnuts

The roasting process in our recipe for roasted walnuts actually brings out the deep and rich flavour of the nut and gives them a crispier texture.

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Prepare a medium sized baking dish and line with non-stick aluminium foil or parchment paper.
  3. Spread the walnuts out evenly in a single layer on the baking sheet in order to make sure the walnuts toast evenly. The nuts will also benefit from being spaced slightly apart.
  4. Position the nuts with the x marked on the shell face up.
  5. Bake the nuts for ten minutes, stirring at the halfway point with a spatula.
  6. Remove the nuts and set aside to cool.
  7. Store the roasted nuts in an airtight container in the fridge.
  8. To eat, use a nut cracker to open.
