The inspiration for Julia’s range of muesli lies in Croatia where she grew up on a farm with a grandmother who, every morning, would try to make their “bland” oat breakfast more tempting. Julia recalls that her grandmother would “transform each serving with either leftover apple strudel, poppy seed cake, Cherry Strudel, Rosehip jam or anything that was seasonally sweet”.
As an adult Julia found herself in Daylesford, home to locally grown oats, and, as it happens a strong Croatian community. Spotting a gap in the market for an artisan muesli based on quality, regional produce Julia began coming up with recipes. The result is her Farmhouse range which is now stocked in cafes and boutique hotels as well as independent stores like Leaf.
