On the farm with Cracking Eggs…

Not too far from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne city lies this beautiful egg farm where hens are free to roam as they please while being protected by dutiful Maremma dogs. In their pursuit to provide customers with high-quality eggs, Justin and David discovered that the healthiest and tastiest eggs come from happy hens. They then perfected their eco-farming processes to develop the best practice to keep their girls happy and healthy every day. 

Now, Cracking eggs is home to small, low-density flocks (less than 25 hens per hectare!) that have their own caravans to lay and sleep in. Not only that, but they also have green luscious pastures to scratch, dig and feed.  We recently travelled out to Toolern Vale to visit the farm and meet with the Cracking Eggs team – and see for ourselves the happiest hens in action!
