DARK SALTED CARAMEL SAUCE
Ingredients:
- 300g Leaf white sugar
- 120ml cold water
- 75g unsalted butter
- 125ml heavy cream
- 1 tsp sea salt flakes
Method:
- Place the sugar and water in a heavy bottom pot or saucepan over medium heat until the sugar melts and turns slightly dark golden brown. Stir and swirl occasionally.
- Add unsalted butter and whisk until it’s combined.
- Remove from heat and slowly pour in the heavy cream, whisking continuously until fully combined.
- Return the saucepan to heat. Add the salt and whisk for 30 seconds.
- Remove from heat and let it cool for about 15 minutes.
- Transfer the caramel sauce to a glass jar or bowl for storage.
- Use to drizzle on any dessert or to make your own caramel macchiato at home.
