Cauliflower Cheese
We have put our own spin on the traditional cauliflower cheese by adding our favourite turmeric blend. Sprinkled on top this all natural super food is the perfect addition to a much loved classic.
Ingredients
1 large head cauliflower separated into florets
500 ml of milk
4 tbsp Kialla Organic Unbleached Plain Flour
50 g butter
100 g Organic Dairy Farmers Cheddar Cheese grated
2-3 tbsp Panko breadcrumbs
1-2 tsp Heal’r Turmeric Blend
Method
- Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil and then add the cauliflower florets and cook for 5 minutes. Lift out a piece to test. Drain the cauliflower then tip into an ovenproof dish.
- Heat the oven to 220 degrees.
- Put the saucepan back on the heat and add the milk, flour and butter. Keep whisking fast as the butter melts and the mixture comes to the boil – the flour will disappear and the sauce will begin to thicken.
- Whisk for 2 minutes while the sauce bubbles and thickens.
- Turn off the heat and add most of the cheese and pour over the cauliflower. Scatter over the remaining cheese and breadcrumbs.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle over turmeric blend.
- Serve immediately.
